Rankings here can't be bought.
Every listing on ServerDrop competes on the same math. This page explains exactly how ordering works, what money can buy, and what it can never touch.
One number, same math for everyone
Feed and leaderboard order come from a single score we call effective weight. It is computed by the same database function for every server. There are no exceptions and no overrides.
- Anyone signed in can bump a server they like by running /bump inside that server's Discord.
- A bump adds 10 points. The contribution decays with a 24-hourhalf-life, so yesterday's bump counts half and last week's barely registers. Staying ranked means a community keeps showing up, not that it showed up once.
- Bumping is free. Each user gets at most 4 bumps in any rolling 24 hours, at least 6 hours apart, counted across all servers.
- Ties break by newest listing first.
There is no other input. Member count does not rank you. Stars do not rank you. Drops do not rank you. Your interest filters narrow which servers appear in your queue, but they never change the order.
What money can and can't buy
Featured Slots are the only paid placement on ServerDrop. Three rules keep them honest:
- Every featured card carries a visible Promoted label. No exceptions.
- Featured placements are capped at 20% of feed positions. At least four of every five cards you see earned their spot.
- A slot never changes the server's rank. When it expires, the listing holds exactly the weight its bumps earned, nothing more.
There is no boost product, no premium tier that reorders results, and no way to convert money into rank.
Three quality gates
Ranking only matters if the pool is worth ranking. Every listing passes three gates:
Content filter
Names and descriptions are screened against a curated filter at submission and again on every edit.
AI image moderation
Every user-supplied icon and banner is scanned before it renders. The gate fails closed: an unapproved image stays hidden.
Human review
Anyone can report a listing. Three independent reports pull it from circulation until a human reviews it, and every moderation action is logged.
